For each child, protection
Participants in the debate reiterated the important duty to protect them when they are at the forefront of news. Indeed, many articles and reports often undermine the dignity of children, making them vulnerable in society and communities.

They also called on the media to play their role in questioning public opinion as regards to the children’s situation in the country and the measures to be taken to improve it.

The event will be broadcast on the national TVM channel on Wednesday 22 November at 17:30 and on TV Plus on Saturday 25 November at 13:30. The debate officially closes a series of activities organized by UNICEF in the context of World Children’s Day. A photo exhibition was organized at the La City Shopping Centre to publicize UNICEF’s mandate to promote children’s rights in Madagascar.

From 17 to 22 November, the Queen’s Palace is also illuminated in blue as Madagascar participated in the global “Going Blue” campaign to demonstrate UNICEF’s commitment to children’s rights.
